What advice would you give to someone who was new to Chiropractic or considering Chiropractic care? It works! I tried other therapies but none of them made a difference until Chiropractic.
I suffered with brief periods of lower back pain for years and relied upon analgesics to stop the pain.Last fall I started experiencing periods of lower back pain to the point where I couldn't carry on my usual daily activities.
That's when I sought the expertise of Dr. Brian Dower. After a thorough exam and accurate diagnosis, Dr. Dower corrected the problem instead of masking it with pain killers.
I experienced incredible relief from the pain starting with the first visit and adjustment.I am no longer experiencing back pain and am able to carry out my usual daily routine without any difficulty.
I wish to thank Dr. Dower of Park Road Healing Arts for not only watching my back, but creating ahhh's from the ouches I once had.
I highly recommend that anyone experiencing bodily pain from everyday wear and tear or an injury visit Dr. Brian Dower and have him turn your ouches into ahhhh's.
I have been a chiropractic patient for approximately 6 weeks.
I came to the office because I had been experiencing chronic lower back pain and pain in both knees for approximately 10 years. However, in the past year the pain had become so bad I found it very difficult to walk any great distances, climbing or descending stairs was always painful and I had great difficulty sleeping due to the pain.Every time I turned in the night I was awakened by the pain in my back and would need to try to reposition.
After only about 2-3 weeks of chiropractic treatment, the pain was already beginning to alleviate.I was able to walk longer distances; I began to feel better not only physically but emotionally as well.Little things, like doing laundry was no longer a daunting, painful task, I could attend my nieces and nephew's hockey games and sit in the stands without being in pain.I found my sleeping improved as well and recently have begun to sleep through the night for the first time in years! In addition, other unexpected things began to happen.I found my stamina and concentration levels began to improve and in fact became the best they had been in years, I don't feel so tired and worn out all the time.Close to the 5 week mark of my treatment, I found that my skin and hair returned to normal and was no longer dry and difficult to manage.
I feel that my progress to date has been a journey of renewal.I came into the treatment with the notion that "well I will try it - if it doesn't work - well nothing lost".Therefore, I had no expectations of how it might be.I guess if I had even achieved minimal pain relief that would have been enough. Now I go entire days pain free.I no longer take Advil on a daily basis or even a weekly basis.I feel more positive about myself but perhaps more importantly, I feel very nurtured by the experience.Dr. Dower is a holistic practitioner as he nurtures your body, mind and soul. This had been the most therapeutic, relaxing, calming and healthy experience of my life.My advice to people thinking about seeking treatment is to get ready to embrace a new you.Open your mind and soul to the possibility of a pain free or reduced pain life with a new appreciation for your body and how it responds to trauma.
I feel very fortunate to have found such a wonderful practitioner who has made this journey safe, fun and very very rewarding.
As a naturopathic doctor, I believe in helping people achieve wellness through a multifaceted and complete approach.I do not hesitate to refer my patients to other health practitioners when there is a particular aspect of their health that does not fall into my scope of practice.
Chiropractic is a great complement to naturopathic care, as it addresses the health of the nervous system, which affects the health of every system in the body.
Dr. Brian Dower is a chiropractor who sincerely cares for his patients and takes the time to educate them about their treatments. He is extremely thorough in his assessment of the spine and nervous system, which is essential to providing effective care. Most importantly, as a caring health practitioner, Dr. Dower always ensures that his patients' are comfortable.
I receive only positive feedback from patients in my practice who are also under Dr. Dower's care - I know that they are in trusted hands.
I am completely confident to refer patients to Dr. Dower for chiropractic care.

What advice would you give to someone who was new to Chiropractic or considering Chiropractic care?
The reason I went to see Dr Dower was not for the usual complaint that is, a sore back. It was because of wellness - wanting good health, wanting to improve my posture. I never listened to my mother when she said to sit or stand up straight and because of that I developed very poor posture. I did not want to end up walking around looking at my feet when I got older, so thought I would try chiropractic care. I have been seeing Dr Dower now for over 4 years and I can see and feel a difference. Both my Tai Chi instructor and my Alexander teacher have noticed that my back has changed, the last few years. I know that chiropractic care, along with Tai Chi and my Alexander lessons have helped make my back more flexible and thereby helping me with my posture. I believe all three of them are working together for that purpose.
Dr Dower believes in a holistic approach, he is very open to all things alternative which was/is important to me. When I first called to make an appointment, the receptionist at the time asked if there was a particular doctor I wanted to see, I said no. She then recommended Dr Dower saying he was very gentle, knowing I was a bit nervous. I am very glad she made that recommendation.
